The Italian surname Napolitan represents one who is a native of Naples (Napoli), a province of Italy considered by many to be the most lovely and fertile of all Italian land. As the old adage goes, “See Naples and die.” Those who bear the name Napolitan come from a long line of painters, poets, sculptors and other artists that date back to at least the thirteenth century.

Napolitan Productions Producer Steven Napolitan was born and raised in Northern California and has carried on the tradition of his surname by creating art. Art; of all sorts. Growing up, he was exposed to his grandfather’s family movies, his cousin’s music and other relatives’ works of art.

Napolitan was always a part of his family’s art. The creation of art amongst the Napolitans was a group effort among relations. And when friends helped create, they became family. This is a tradition Napolitan cherishes to this day.

Following schooling at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco, Napolitan started working in the motion picture and video field in 1995. Those he worked with became more than fellow artists and colleagues; they became part of his family. Napolitan extends his arms wholeheartedly to those who want to produce art with him.

“When my family eats and celebrates together, they have a good time,” Napolitan said. “But they also have a good time when they work together. One creates the most powerful art in good company.”
